Question power window not working

2004 S series sat for 2 months, now the drivers side window will not work. Passenger side works fine. What do I need to look for?

I had the same problem with my 04 MC passenger window. It didn't work for about 2 weeks until I found a temporary solution on the web. I was prepared to take the door panel off to repair/replace the window motor. However I learned that the problem is stuck brushes or the like in the motor. The fix to get the window going again is to rap hard just below the speaker with your open hand and voila the window is working again. Its been working fine now for the past 5 months. Saved me a lot of money and effort.

The window motor is bad. When they sit that is common for them to lock up. If you want I can replace that window motor for you...

If you have the door pannel off the door and un-plug the connector on the motor. Then hook up a DVOM (volt meter) to the power and ground, press the switch and the meter will show battery voltage (12v) or close to 12v. If you get 12 than your motor is bad.

Hi, that is very much so. I use the same method to diagnose if the fuel pump is bad. If you ever decide to fix that window motor I can help, I have replaced hundreds. Just let me know. Thx

Default Power Window Motor

We had to take the door panel off, remove the motor and give it a good smack. Has been working fine since. Found out that the motor got stuck, a good swift pounding and she's back to normal.

Default RE: Stuck Passenger Window

Hey gang, a newby here so helllooo! First I must say that after longing for a MCS since 2002, I finally took the leap yesterday and picked up a 2003 with 57k on it. Secondly, today the passenger window quit working but in the up position. This infuriated me as I have so many reservations about owning such a great yet possibly problematic little car to begin with. This led me to you guys and your proposed solutions. I am proud to announce that the pounding above the lower speaker while holding the toggle in the up position did the trick!!! (insert loud applause here) Anywhooo, my humble thanks!!

Peace
