Speed Sensor Replacement Failed

Speed Sensor Replacement Failed
I had to replace the front left wheel bearing on my 2007 MCS. I didn't remove the speed sensor first and subsequently broke it so I ordered a replacement from JC Whitney. I fitted the replacement and the DSC/ warning light trio came on as soon as the hub is turned even a small amount. Assuming the replacement sensor was faulty I ordered another but it fails the same way. I didn't have this problem prior to replacing the bearing hub.
I've been searching to see if there's a reset that needs to be performed however nearly all the advice i've found states that just fitting the replacement then driving around will make the lights go out. I've been driving the car for 2 weeks and it's not automatically reset. I've also tried disconnecting the battery overnight to reset the ECU.
Does anyone have any ideas?
