I just bought a 2007 MC S convertible with 27,000 miles. It has the 6 speed automatic transmisison which has the Sport setting, and the steptronic. You can use the shifter to move up / down through the gears, or the paddles on the wheel. My question is this - is there any evidence that constant use of the streptronic feature, either by way of the shifter or the paddles on the whell wears down your transmission, engine or anything else faster than just using the normal setting on the tranny?

Just seems like downshifting using the steptronic is putting more stress on anything, although it is fun as heck! I love to use it.
