Tow capacity of Mini cooper S? What do you guys tow?

I currently tow a 1500lb boat or a a 750lb snowmobile with my beater vehical, a zx2. It does a great job, I've even done 2000lbs for short distances before and at 90,000 miles it hasn't shown signs of abuse.

What can you tow with Mini Cooper S. I'm about to sell my beater zx2 and do all my towing with my Mini Cooper S. I figure the Cooper S should be up to it. I know the brakes are overworked, but being careful is 1500lbs reasonable. I live in a flat area. I thought I read that they are good for 1400 lbs.

Do you think this is a better tow vehical than a VW TDI?


Are the cv joints durable and strong, what about the frame? Will towing with it wear stuff out?

Anyone with experience or good insight into towing with this car would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a ton

I'd check with mini do more as they sell hitches they should know towing capacity
