Default Unpleasant sound with brand new cooper

Girlfriend just got a new 2012 countryman S, and it emits a very audible and unpleasant screech/squeal once it hits 25-30mph which really doesn't stop. It's nearly continuous, and gets louder the faster you go. Sound seems to be originating from the front driver side, but is hard to tell. Originally thought it was just some loose sheet metal under the body, but now I think it may be a belt with the engine (sound goes round and round when driving alongside in another car).

I can figure out most computer problems, but car issues are beyond my realm of knowledge.

Going to take the car in tomorrow afternoon when she's off of work, but I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what this might be, as it's a brand new car it's rather disappointing. Other than this she loves the car.

yes. It was a heat shield on the brake, it had been bent slightly during shipping and was making the sound. Tech guy bent it back into place and everything was good, took about 2minutes.
