Default Will not stay running when cold

I have a 2009 clubman s, when it's cool or cold outside, it will not keep running when started.when it's warm out it runs perfect. Backfires, smells rich, no throttle response. You can put it to the floor and nothing. You have to keep starting it.once warmed up runs fine the rest of the day.Have changed and checked the plugs, they are dry and clean.Any ideas.

When it's warm out it doesn't exhibit these cold start issues? It sort of sounds like you might be dealing with a HPFP failure and/or carbon build up. How many miles are on it and when was the last time you did a carbon clean up? I'd inspect the valves for residue build up. There is an extended warranty for the HPFP on select N14 MINI's from 2007-2009. Is your check engine light on and any codes present in the system?
