Default Door Lock Problems

This is my problem. I have a 2005 Convertible S with only 25,000 miles on it. My drivers side door will not open when I try to open the door from the inside handle. I can only open it by using the unlock feature on the dash and then reaching out the window and opening the door from the outside handle.
The door will lock and unlock from the key remote but again the inside door handle will not release. I went to the dealer and was told I needed to replace the door actuator. My problem seems to be different then most I have read about online. I have also read some interesting comments about disconnecting the battery and resetting the system. However, someone stated this caused additional problems. Not sure why. Anyway, if anyone has any advice please let me know.

I'm not buying the actuator as this would cause the remote/switch to not work...
Since you state it DOES. I'm betting that there is a linkage trouble

Default Door Lock Problems

Thanks Bad Venge, I have agree with you. To me it appears that the cable may have come undone. I just need to find a diagram that will show how to run the cable. Don't like it when the dealer tries to sell me something I don't need.

The fact that it works with the remote rules out the actuator, IMO. Sounds like a linkage problem, like bad venge said.
