Weird Noise When Turning....
#3
It is your constant velocity joint, part of the driveline that transmits power from the transmission to the wheels. You have one to each of your front wheels and sometimes it can be fixed by moving the grease arround inside the rubber boot to get things lubricated again but most cases it is wise to replace the unit. What year is your car and how many miles do you have on it?

actually, we're pretty sure it's just random trim rubbing on the steering wheel. the sound appears to be coming from the steering wheel when it is turned past certain points.
now if only i could figure out how to remove the trim from under the wheel so i could lube it, grrr.
hanes manual isn't much help with that.
