Default 2006 Mini S Convertible – intermittent warning lights

I have a 2006 S Convertible. A little worse for wear but performs really well. About 110,000 miles. Standard 6 speed.

Sometimes when I start the car the tire monitor light and the DSC light will come on. There is nothing wrong with the tires and the DSC is actually off.

I can drive the car for a few miles, turn it off and then back on and the lights are off. They may come back on, maybe not. Sometimes when it happens the cruise control won’t work. The work-around (again) it to turn the car completely off and back on and then the 2 lights go off and the cruise control works again.

The other night I took her out for an hour drive on the Skyline Drive of the Shenandoah National Park and it was fine the whole time and a lot of fun. No warning lights.

Today I drove to the store and the two lights were on. After coming out of the store and starting her up, no warning lights.

It’s driving me nuts. I suspect just a bad/dirty connection somewhere common to the tires sensor and the driving stability control but don’t know where to look.

Any suggestions?
