Default 2013 Mini Cooper S Keyfob issue

Hello!
New to the forums, thanks for reading! I have a 2013 Mini Cooper S and the keyfob just stopped working to turn the car on. It still unlocks the doors and hatch, but when inserted into the car, pressing the start button does nothing. No accessories, no start, nothing. This keyfob is sealed as far as I can tell, so I can't replace the battery, but I don't believe the battery is the issue as it still unlocks the car from a pretty good distance. The lights inside the car are all bright, and the stereo turns on for a few seconds, so I do not believe the car battery is an issue either. We still tried to jump start the battery, but no dice. Any suggestions? I believe there is a module that detects the key to start the car, but I don't know what it is called to see if it is something I can replace myself.

Thanks!

Mark
