Talking Advice for a potential buyer?

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum here, and I wanted to pose a question. Does anyone have any advice pertaining to buying a new mini? I have my eyes on the 2013 S hardtop. Any tips on negotiating a price/incentives/rebates? Hope my question makes sense. Oh, and I'm in the San Diego, CA. area, if that helps. Thanks!

Oh and here's a link to the actual MINI I'm looking into buying.

I just lurk most of the time , but man this place sure is dead ! I don't know if its people are stuck up or too busy out having fun in their mini's (I certainly hope its the latter )

We are /have been looking at them and holy crap I get sticker shock everytime we go to the Mini dealer and look at the cars. $35K + for a Mini and its not even the JC .

We want an S Convertible with Auto just that alone tops $30K and we haven't even started on the options list .... Dammmm !!!

If I'm gonna pay that kind of money for a car I don't want to go color blind or settle for this or just that...
Last week we were in the local Mini dealer and the color we wanted with the above set up, supposedly the sales guy said there were none in the Western US and one was in shipment but hadn't hit the shore yet and of coarse if we put a deposit down they could get it headed this way...

I think the best way to go on a new mini is to look for a 2012 model that they are trying to get rid of , they are discounting them heavily now.
Also you could try going to TRUECAR.com , google them. They negotiate the best " no haggle" price you will probably find. Their Mini Cooper prices are showing their BMW roots anymore.
