Question Buying a new dealer "company used" mini...Need advice..

Saw a 2010 mcs at a dealer today. The sticker price is right around 29k and they are selling it for 24k. Found out it already has 7k + miles on it. The salesperson told me it is considered as "new" since it has never been licensed and it was driven by company executives.

They are offering 4k off on all 2010 models. That means they are only giving about additional 1k off due to the miles on the car.

Is this a good deal or you guys think there is still room for negotiation? The car was started in service about 6 months ago which means 6 months of maintainence free program and warranty have also been used up. Also, is there a chance that the car has ever been abused?

Please provide your insights on this one.

Regards.

Talk to the dealership and see if they will cover another 6 months (or more) of service for free. See if they have other 2010 moldes with no miles and 4K off. It might be worth the extra 1K for a 0 mile car.

Talk to them about your issues and concerns and see what they are willing to do to make you happy.

I would also inquire about the satalite radio if it has it. A 29k MINI should. MINIs come with a year of free satalire radio and I would not be suprised if the exec didn't register the car and use 6 months of the 1 year free subscription.

If you are still unsure or uncomfortable then walk.

If the car has never been registered they are able to still sell it as new.
Standard practice.
Also intrest rates are usually much better for a new car than a used car.

10's should not have satelite radio (unless it was optioned) thats a new 11 feature they come with it standard.and the 1 year service
7K is a good amount of miles and since you don't know how it was treated (or what it was used for) This eats up your 36K mile maintenance.
I'm not sure why it would have 6 months on it most factory vehicles are not titled and are not put into service, I'd be concerned as to why it has 6 months use, I'd see if this car was titled before and returned or lemon lawed or a short term lease and the dealer is less then honest about it.
Can the Certify Preown this unit ? This would give you a longer warranty
