Default First mini: 2006 JCW

Hey gang,

My name is Mitch and I live in Portland Oregon. After considering purchasing my second mkv gti, an e90 BMW 328i or a 128i, I stumbled upon this sweet JCW in the local craigslist. I'd only driven a mcs once a couple of years ago and had not done my usual research before looking at the car. Driving the JCW, I had to hold back my grins in order to negotiate the price. What a hoot!

So I went for it and am learning about it after the fact. I'm really happy with my purchase and am coming up with lots of errands to run, always taking the twisty scenic route.

Hey Mitch. Awesome score man! I did the same route as you my friend. I bought before I did research. HAHA! But you know what? I have no regrets. The only regret is that I wish the car lot I bought my Mini from had had a JCW or better yet the GP. I guess that can be on my list of which car to buy next. Anyways, i'm rambling on now. Welcome to the forum Mitch! Drive it like u stole it!

Thanks teamslam! Yeah, I do enjoy driving it like I stole it...that's when it gets fun. Things I'm loving so far:

The sound of the sc, engine and exhaust at wot
The burble pops when letting off
The communicative chassis and steering
The handling. Best fwd car I've experienced in the twisties. That's my fave.

I'm psyched to have found a well cared for factory JCW r53. From what I'm learning, I think I lucked out. This is pretty much my ideal in the line-up. I never would have paid for the JCW new. I like the package.

I'm looking forward to learning all of you!

Hi mitch,
I am in New Zealand and fully understand how you feel about your car,we are all the same, great cars people have no idea what it will do when they tailgate, put the gas down and see them left behind, the only issue I have found is you get out of the car looking like an idiot, why because you are walking around with a big smile on your face that don't go away, great feeling,I would say anyone looking at botox should buy a cooper s,cheaper more fun lifts the face and don't fill the body with toxins, mini mini all day long you can never go wrong.
