Question first time mini owner

I bought my wife a blue 05 mini s and we both love the car. It does well in the snow here in wisconsin. Question for anyone-- the check engine lamp came on with a fault code for a idle air control motor concern (p1628 i think). The mini would only do 8mph(hardly any throttle control) and idled with a missfire. Shut engine off and restarted engine and it ran fine. Had no missfire codes! cleared the fault code with a scan tool. Hasnt acted up since. Do these 1.6l engines need the throttle body cleaned at times? (Im a chrysler tech by trade) any help wound be great.

I don't think the actuator needs to be cleaned on these cars (not sure), although it might have some debris if your air filter, for example, hasn't been replaced in a while.
