Look at the post titled "whats the deal in negotiating the price on a new Mini." It is all simple supply and demand econmomics. The car on the lot will be easier to negotiate that will be the car that you special order. If the dealer sells every car that they get in; that dealer will negotiate far less than another who doesn't. When the economy is bad (Gee, I think it might be getting that way just a little, the dealers tend to get much more willing to negotiate. Some people (on either side of the sales desk) are much better negotiators than others. Lots of factors.
