Default I'm looking into a mini but need help...

Hello to everyone here from a new member. I'm looking into buying a mini and wanted some advise on what people have done to them. I currently have a '03 Matix XRS that I've modded to the Max and I'm selling. I know there's plenty of supercharged coopers out there, but how many are turbo'd and how many real engine mods are there? What I really want to know is can I get mini beast over 250whp?

Welcome to the forum. Performance parts for Minis aren't as readily available as they are for other cars, but they are out there. As far as a turbo goes, I have never seen an aftermarket turbo, but then again, I've never really looked because I'm already supercharged. But, the new Mini (2007 I believe) is supposed to have a twin-scroll turbo, and will be pushing 230hp with the John Cooper Works tuning kit, so there's something to look into.

2007? I was looking to get one now, maybe even used, since the prices are right.

Cmzee13, Welcome! There is a few companys that sell many parts for the MINI, M7 tuning, Minimania to name a few. I have an 04 MINI cooper S which is supercharged. I have a M7 extreme scoop and going a 16% pully reduction and other engine mods like an ECU up grade.[8D] The most hp I have seen in a MINI is about 230hp to the wheels that will hang with anything out there, I mean any thing[sm=gears.gif]. Hay best of luck looking for your MINI. Oh there are a few supercharged turbo MINI's but some say to much boost.(LoL)

In that case, try turbo-kits.com. I think they have a turbo that's efficient to over 200 hp. Also, check out minimania.com. They've got tons of Mini performance parts. And if it's performance you're looking for, I'd look into one of these...

The cooperS is the sportier of the two. They come with differnt options. The outside looks alittle different (kit) and bigger wheels, springs, DSC, seats, stereo, bonnet scoop, and many other things. I will look for a list.

Basically the only difference is the supercharger. You also have dual exhaust, but other than that there's not much difference.
