Default Mini S shopper

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm thinking of buying a Mini S in the 15 - 20k range, which in my area seems to be somewhere '05 - '07. I've heard there were significant mechanical improvements in the '06 but don't know if that's true & if so what they are. Also what about MP3 connectivity in those years? Any advice would be appreciated.

05/06's are near identical the 07 S's are the first of the new turbo cars (except the convertibles)
my 05 I use my IPOD instead of trying to burn mp3 discs

Default Mp3

Do any of the newer ones have true MP3 connectivity, so you get the readout from your iPod on the dash display? Also any opinion on supercharger vs. turbo, lag etc.? Thanks.
