New 2011 S owner
Good evening, new to this board. Just posted a question in the tech area.
Have been wanting a Mini since around 2003 or 04. Recently, had a "substitute" of sorts: a 2000 Miata. Was from a relative, low mileage and in great shape. Took it and enjoyed driving it for about the past 1 1/2 years. But just can't do a stick daily, and getting in and out...... Am keeping it under wraps for weekend summer driving.
Just bought a black 2011 S, just under 10,000 miles. Love it!! If I built it on the website I might have gone for this or that, but I think I got a pretty good set of features as it was.
Thumbing through the owners manual and flicking through the computer to see all of my settings. Surely thought I had the audio on the remote lock, but it appears to be an option I don't have. I don't see the icon of light and sound together when I scroll, but I do see the light symbol with an "a". Can anyone tell me what that is, couldn't find it in the manual.
Thanks!!
Dave

I'm assuming you bought this from a non mini dealer.
I'd take it into your local mini dealer and introduce yourself ( most mini dealers are small and treat you like family)
While there ask questions the sales/service staff are normally very helpful , some options are programmed into the cars computer so you might need to have certain items programmed in or other items removed.
When you purchase new they have a programing checklist and they set up the car to your specs. They should be able to give you the list and program it to your specs. (they might charge you a shop fee)
