It is extremely important that proper maintenance is done on your Coopers in order to avoid an expensive repair later. One of the common problems with the Mini's is that the thermostat starts to leak. If this happens and it is not fixed in time, it will cause your engine to overheat and damage piston rings, pistons and even the coils. These are expensive fixes, but can be avoided with replacement of your thermostat. Any questions, shoot me a note.
