Smile New to me 06 Cooper S convertible

Hiya folks,

I'm new to Minis but not new to BMWs and their parts being made of unobtanium. I was, however, a little shocked to find that an additional ignition key is going to cost over $200. Yes, I haven't bought a new car since the turn of the century, so maybe I'm a bit naive.

Then I discovered that there is no spare and the car is meant to run with run flat tires which are not what's on it now and it needs tires. I'm hoping new tires will make the whump-whump-whump that is obvious at low speeds go away.

Anyway, I love the car already and I'm ready to spend what it takes to get it up to snuff. The engine runs strong, the top's in good shape and I'm a happy camper.

Thanks
Z.

Hello,

Yes the key you have to get at a MINI dealership and show your credentials of ownership.

You can run the car without runflats, just get a tire mobility kit and you will be fine.

I am a R52 convertible owner also. Let me know if you need anything else.
