Okay, first off... my apologies for disappearing. I came here last year to inquire about a couple of different Coopers that I was interested in buying. Well, it took much longer than I thought, but I finally got a 2010 Cooper (base model) a few months ago. Not only is it the first Mini I've ever owned, but it is my first German car. I got (at least what I think is) a very good deal, but the string that is attached lies in the fact that it is a flood damaged car (fresh water). I paid $8k and it had 24k miles on it (I've put an additional 10k on it since I bought it). Feel free to let me know if you think I got robbed or not! The place where I bought it specializes in flood damaged European and higher-end cars (everything from Minis to Maseratis), and I think that they did a good job refurbishing it for the most part, but there is this one little annoying thing that I will eventually get to. What this means is that I will be the one doing all of the service on the vehicle, so I am figuring that I will be a regular on this forum for quite some time to come (hopefully for regular service only). I have many questions about my new toy (oil, brakes, service schedule, driver controls, mods, service manual, OBD, specialty tools, things to watch out for, etc), and would like to start by asking where I should be posting such a thread. I've tried to post a pic, and would gladly post more, but it appears as though I don't have rights to do that at this time (maybe another good question for all of you). In any case, I look forward to hearing from you all, and sharing Mini technical adventures for hopefully a long time.

Okay, so I tried the Dropbox thing for posting pics, and I also set up an album in my profile, but is there something else I should be doing to post pics? My "Rules" state that I am not allowed to post attachments.
