new member cooper S
Hi Folks,
What a car! Pure silly fun.
Just picked up a white/blk cooper S 6-spd/sport package.
A little background, I traded in my X650i as I found myself not driving it so much as I prefer the "involved" aspect of a stick in my M3 ZCP. Also tired of feeding 93 octane to too gaz guzzlers.
To my surprise the mini is just a blast. Light and zippy, a great city car that say "hey, wanna play?" My M3 while is a serious minded uber sports car at times.
Only beef I have is the stereo, next month i'll have a A/V place see if they can do a in-line amp/speaker upgrade. I bought it from dealer stock so no harmon audio system.
Also thinking a ecu/intake/exhaust upgrade sounds good. Is the stock setup strong enough to handle a mild tune?
Any advice or insight into those areas would be great!
This car is so fun to drive, i just laugh with glee as it zips thru traffic and around corners.
Thanks for reading folks.

Very true, I'm going to do some research into some tuning options. The JCW setup is like 4500k. IMHO overpriced. Done some tuning to my M3 so have a local place that is good.
Can't post photo's for some reason on here though?

Hi! I'm a newbie here, and am the happy owner of a 2011 base model hatch MINI (it turned 6 months old last Thursday). I couldn't agree with you more!! Aren't these cars absolutely fantastic?? Enjoy!
Re: Sound system - I have the Harmon Kardon sound system in my car. I hadn't spent a long time in a model w/o HK, so I'm not sure how much of a discernable difference there is, but the sound is very good. I'm glad I ordered it with HK sound system.

I wish I had it but sadly they didn't have one with manual tranny, only auto's.
It's really uplifting to see that you don't have to spend a huge amount of money to get a car that is such a blast with tons of personality.
