Default New MINI owner, EXCITED!!

So i bought my first Mini Cooper yesterday, and im also a first time buyer. I am super stoked about the car. I honestly am a die hard VW fan and never imagined owning a Mini. But i got a fantastic deal on it and i couldnt pass it up!! I got an 07 Mini with a 6 speed manual. Wish it was the S model, but this one is great a well. According to the specs it gets super fantastic gas mileage which is awesome considering im a delivery driver. So i am interested to see what people have to say about what are some better companies for aftermarket parts for the MINI. Im probably not gonna do much with it. But eventually i would love to add a nice exhaust and intake to the car and maybe some nice wheels at some point. I dont think im gonna lower it cause its pretty low as it is and considering i drive a lot and all the driveways in nj seem to like to make me bottom out, i will keep it at its stock height. So i would love some feedback on good aftermarket parts for this car. I have always had honda's and nissan's and vw's. So considering MINI is made by BMW im not sure which route to go to find good aftermarket parts and if there is a certain company that is better than others for the Mini.

Congratulations on the purchase! You can check out our DIY Tech Articles here that should help you with any future work you perform on the vehicle. You can always take a cruise around our parts catalog to see what performance parts we offer for your new car. Hope you enjoy it and congrats again.

Congrats on your purchase. A couple aftermarket brands for Minis are M7 Tuning and Alta. Have fun with your Mini!

I see you are also in new jersey carid. Little farther north from me. I dont have any pictures of it just yet. But i have been trying to look around for parts for the base model mini cooper. And it seems everywhere i go its only showing me parts for the S model. So im trying to figure out if they are both the same engine just one is turbo?? They are the R56 engine, correct?? Or am i way off??
