hello im looking to buy a miniiiiiii but i was wondering if there are loads of mechanical issues you would find like you would on a VW? how is it? thanks

 

I traded a very troublesome 2006 VW Jetta GLI w/44000 miles in on my 2009 Mini Cooper Hardtop last January. I have 15000 trouble-free miles on the Mini already. My Mini has an auto trans, but it's the new Aisin 6spd auto, not the old trouble-prone CVT auto. I just had my Mini at the dealer for it's first oil change on Monday, and I was talking to someone who had to replace the clutch in her 1yr old manual trans Mini. Mini covered the part, but not the labor, since they felt that the clutch failed too soon due to driver abuse. Hard to prove or disprove their claim. Everyone seems to hate the run-flat tires most Minis come with, so I bought mine with the 15" standard all-season tires.
