I expect delivery of my new-used 2006 mini around 8/1/13. Very excited. I drove both the blown and this normally aspirated one. I am going for the gas mileage of the non-s. I test drove both the S and non-s, and immediately decided I loved both. The R50 was fun to drive and had ample acceleration, probably due to the taller numeric gear ratio. I sold my 2001 Dodge Ram for the MINI, and the former monthly gas expense will more than cover the monthly pmt on the MINI, so I have no guilt in buying this toy. It is also a reward to myself for having worked 5 jobs as I put my wife thru grad school for 6 years. She just graduated and will be accepting a job offer. I have had three Gen 1 RX 7's and loved them. I see this mini as a more reliable/longer living, modern substitute with twice the gas mileage and slightly better performance. Looking forward to connecting with folks and learning about the MC.

 

congratulations! I just bought my first mini also.I have a jeep tj with 33 inch tires and thru a rod and decided i was tired of putting more and more money into it and have it for sale and tired of the gas mileage also.I just bought a 2009 mini clubman and love it

 

I just bought a 2005 mini S yesterday...silver and I love it! already the best car i have ever owned!

Thanks folks. Looking forward to getting the car. Until then I am driving my 1973 off-road IH Scout II to work and back. It gets less mpg than the 2001 Dodge Ram 5.9 I sold to get the MINI but, it is more reliable!
