Default Newbie Researching

Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie and trying to research on Mini before purchasing one. I am a college student, so i am concern about maintenance costs. I am looking at buying a 2003 Mini S. Couple of questions:

1. how much is it to replace a clutch?
2. are engines and tranny relaiable? What about the turbo?
3. Any common issue with this year and model?

I appreciate any feedbacks that you have. Thank you.

Joe

dealer clutch replacements are $1500 to $2500 depends on area..
I found an independant shop that will do it for $800

motors and trannies hold up well , an 03 will not have a turbo unless aftermarket(supercharger only)
