Proud Owner of a 2005 Mini Cooper
Hi
After many years of wanting one I am now the proud owner of a 2005 Mini Cooper. My first car when I was 18 was a chocolate brown 1000cc Mini. I loved that car. So in my 46th year I can say I am a Mini owner again YEAH.
I was letting my son out of the back seat yesterday when I noticed a snapped off wire hanging below the back of the front passenger seat. I worked out it is the wire used for adjusting the back of the seat. The handle for this action no longer works.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and is it easy to get fixed. I will have to take it somewhere as myself and my husband are useless at fixing things ourself's.
Also the gear **** silver coating is coming away and is really sharp on the fingers when changing gear. Is the gear stick/**** easy to change.
Thank you in advance for any feed back.

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
Re the car seat my husbands says I am a twit. The snapped wire under the seat has nothing to do with the seat back adjuster. (thankfully). I was pushing the lever down when you should pull it up to adjust the back of the seat. So I am none the wiser what the snapped wire is.
I will have a look at Youtube to see how to change the shift ****.
Once again thank yo for your help.

Congrats.
2005 Mini Cooper: What model , Cooper .. Cooper S ... JCW ... Convertible ?
Shift ***** you have to pull up with force and it comes right off, watch the sunroof and your face when you pull.
Do you have a pic of the cable ? I believe that it is not a separate part.
Thanks
