Default Researching Cooper S for towing behind Motorhome

Looking at best year and bang for buck. Love manual transmissions and looking forward to driving one.

My first recommendation is to use a car dolly to pull a front wheel drive car, and second, I personally like the first generation Mini Cooper S with the Getrag 6 speed. 2005 & 2006 models supposedly have a little better gear ratios.

The 5 speeds (Midlands and Getrag) seem to have reliability issues from what I’ve read.

The Tritec engine has been nicknamed “the unbreakable lump”.

These cars are 15 years old and older now, but you should still be able to find a well cared for one with fairly low miles.

Thanks for your reply! I'm trying to stay away from a dolly so looking at other cars now.
