OK so here it goes. 1st I am new to the forum. Live on the central coast of cali.
We have decided to buy a Mini after having an 05 volvo s40 t5.
We drove the standard and it does not have the power we like. MUST HAVE THE S! What are the best years? looking at 06- up.
Want the S,auto. What is with all the different models? We want the single tach with the large speedo and the push button start.

 

You don't say if you want a hardtop or convertible as thee's differences in those ...
The S hardtops from 03/06 were SUPERCHARGED 07+ are turbocharged
The S Conv were Supecharged up to 08 and turboed thereafter...

The Pushbutton start is the 07+ Hardtop , Convertible 08+ They have the hockey puck keys

The Standard S have the Large Center Speedo and Single Tach above ...
There are the Navigation ones , and Chrono packages that vary that package look...

 

Hard top for sure. What is better? Turbo or supercharger? Which has more after market hop ups? Thank you

 

The SC is more easily hopped up , just changing the pulley /belt can increase HP by 20% also add headers exhaust and intake for big HP ,add a front mount intercooler ect unfortunately the older SC ones never had the pushbutton start you want ...

the turbos can be hopped up but will put a far bigger dent in the wallet to get the equivalent HP gains
