Default Beware before buying or leasing!!!

We lease a 2012 MINI Roadster S and were unfortunately in an accident on 12-12-12. Our car is still in the shop, awaiting a part which IS NOT BEING MANUFACTURED. Consequently we are still making payments on that Roadster yet are driving a rental. I don't understand how a car manufacturer can sell a car when there are no replacement parts readily available, or why they would not inform the customer of this situation before purchase.

Neither MINI USA nor BMW Financial will do anything to compensate us for this loss. After countless phone calls we were finally offered a $1-$2 reduction in our monthly car payment while we are waiting for the part. We find this highly insulting and the proverbial last straw

This is our second MINI and it will be our last

I thought by law they had to produce repair parts and have them available.

Thumbs down Ridiculous

After many phone calls, MINI found the part I needed. But it was attached to a larger part (like half the size of the car) and they shipped that entire part overseas so that my mechanic can cut it down to access the needed part. To date the car has been in the shop for 2 months and 8 days.

This process, however frustrating, was worsened by the poor service and downright rudeness we received from MINI and BMW Financial.

I want it finished, the lease ended and my freedom from MINI and BMW Financial

Some car dealers are like this only. Before buying any luxury cars just like new or pre owned Mercedes car, you must ensure that dealer is good and reliable.

deb4963, do you mind sharing with us which dealer it was? We need an online "hot and cold" file of dealers!
