Cool N18 Turbo Question

Found an interesting difference between two 2013 JCWs. There is a slight difference in how the wiring is routed over the turbo (see attached photos).
Is it wise do re-route the wire as seen in the first photo? The second photo has the wire routed over the turbo -- as it is in my 2014 Clubman S. Just curious as to whether or not this is a preventive measure to keep the turbo from damaging the wire.
Any thoughts on how this might work?

I do whatever needs to be done to protect the wiring from the heat of the turbo.

There are also insulated, nonflammable wraps and / or sleeves available that could help protect a wire loom in the vicinity of the heat source.
