No prime signal to fuel pump
2007 Mini Cooper S r56, fuel pump works on crank and run but does not get prime signal ( 3-5seconds on fob in). Need to know what gives prime signal, relay and pump work on crank and run. Would appreciate fuel pump wiring schematic.

Evidently not many people have this issue, or they don’t realize that the crank and run is working when the prime isn’t. I am reasonably sure the DME/ECU sends this signal but I do not know which pin. I need a wiring schematic but no one has replied. I have one I’m trying to load on my laptop now without much success, it has corrupted files, got from eBay. There is so much misinformation on line about this issue, even finding the fuel pump relay is a chore, a lot of people post who do not know what they are taking about.

The fuel pump does not get prime signal on mini like many electronic fuel injected cars. Evidently high pressure pump has check valve that holds fuel in pump. Changed high pressure pump and fixed hard starting problem.

Check the Fuel Pump Relay: If the fuel pump is working during cranking and running, the relay might be working as intended. However, it's still a good idea to check the fuel pump relay for any signs of damage or overheating. A faulty relay could potentially cause intermittent issues with the prime signal. Check the Fuel Pump Control Module: Some vehicles have a separate fuel pump control module that manages the fuel pump's operation. If your Mini Cooper has one, check for any loose connections or signs of damage. Make sure it's receiving the necessary signals and power. It’s good to hear that you appreciate the value of such activities for active participation, vocabulary memorisation and general language practice I suggest you also play online casinos occasionally, especially as you can always find information https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-c...egascasino.com about the right casino. Check for Faulty Wiring or Grounds: Inspect the wiring leading to the fuel pump and fuel pump relay for any visible damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Faulty wiring can prevent the proper signal from reaching the fuel pump. Also, make sure that the ground connections for the fuel pump and related components are secure and in good condition.
