Why anyone would pay $299 retail for a Mini JB+ now is beyond me.
There are other solutions now - I got a new quick connect tuner for my mini for $170, from a US company ProtuningUSA:

Works perfectly. Lifetime warranty. No dials to mess with and didn't have to take out a loan to buy it.
It was literally half the price of a JB and does the same thing.
I would save that kind of money for a real tune / upgrade.
