Unhappy Light comes on dash when I changed to non runflats

Hi i bought a mini during the week a 2002 model, it came with 15 inch wheels, obviously not run flat tyres, i bought a set of 17 inch wheels and put non run flat tyres on, now the light is coming on the dash after I drive for about 5 mins, what can I do to sort this?

Hello,

You wheel reads the speed sensor of the abs , this was before the TPMS sensors thats mounts onto the air valve stem inside the rim. You can check to make sure the air pressure is correct, you can find a lable in the driver door jam that gives you the pressure. Make sure they are correct and the same , left to right. Most likly its reading the different wheel speed due to the change of wheels. Press and hold the tire light reset button and it should rest then you are good to go.

Button should look like number 2 in the diagram.

Thanks

thanks for coming back to me mate, but i actually work in the tyre trade, i have 2054517s all round, only thing is they are mixed with non runflats on the back and non runflats on the front, im assuming this is the problem, pressures where all the same, im thinking because the non runflats have a softer sidewall, plus the light on the dash isnt constantly on, it comes on after a few minutes of driving and flashes, i have turned the key into position two, held the button in for a long time and no light comes on, i have even tried different postions on the key, still no joy, so im going to put non runflats all round to see if this sorts the problem, i have a spare wheel under the car too....
