2010 Cooper S - Suspension Issues?
Hi,
I a looking for other cooper owners who have experienced suspension problems or perhaps wheel or brake problems. I'll be honest up front and say that at this point, purchasing my mini cooper was one of the worst decisions I've ever made.
My buying experience was horrible, my service experience has been worse than horrible, now the car is in the body shop (and is now going on its sixth week there).
Here's what happened. I took an exit ramp at approximately 55 mph. There was a loud boom from the back of the car, and the car became airborne and bounced for several feet. Needless to say, everything underneath the car, the suspension, struts, wheels, etc are toast. Even shattered the headlights and dented the fenders during the bouncing.
We have been over the accident site with a fine tooth comb. There was nothing there for me to hit. So, the thought is that there was a failure of some sort with the back end of the car. Mini won't say so, and they keep saying I hit a curb. Really? From the middle of an exit ramp? No.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Even remotely?
Again, even if I loved driving the car (and I did), I am now afraid to drive it. The experience of dealing with Mini has left me thinking that these are the worst cars ever! I told my service place that if I could give the car back and walk away lesson learned, I would.
Help!
