Default argh re brand new mini

I got a gorgeous (to me LOL) Ice blue / white hard top / white racing stripes mini on Sunday (THREE days ago!)

Today, the yellow check engine soon light came on. Dropped it off at the dealer, they can't get to it until tomorrow.

WTH?

So much for brand new adorable car jazzed feelings. Now I'm worried about an early lemon situation. Never had to take a brand new car to the dealer for a problem so early. Not even close. Three freakin' days? What have I gotten myself into?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't be worried! Please don't hate mini's because of one bad small problem: I just bought my dark blue mini (2012) in January and a few weeks later I had a problem. My fuel light was on and would not shut off even though I had a completely full tank. After a few days it stayed on I began to get upset thinking of the money I may have to spend, not that I'm cheap but I'm 16 and don't have a steady cash flow to be breaking out big bucks, so I brought it to the dealer and told them. The next day they did a thorough examination of the car and told me not to worry that the sensor just falsely set off. They said it happens amongst new cars sometimes because they have to have their break in period. DO NOT WORRY! I know I'm just some 16 year old but just tryin' to help. Good luck!!

thanks! To compound the situation, they weren't even able to look at it today, but promise it's up first thing in the morning. I sure hope you are right. Thanks!!!

It was the oil cap that needed to be replaced. Extremely odd, but extremely minor. Fingers crossed, but it's soooo great to get my new baby back!

they said it was pulling in oil or something from the reservoir. (they talked to my husband.) Whatever. I don't want to start doubting them, or I might as well throw in the towel now. Time will tell if this is a lemon or not, and there's nothing I can do about it now.
