I am preparing to do an auto transmission fluid change on our 2012 R56 ... the MINI pan filter and gasket set is $140, but Febi/Bilstein equivalent sells for under $25. I am thinking the difference is largely dealer markup.

Has anyone out there replaced their filter and gasket with Febi (or other aftermarket brands), and if so how are they holding up?

The febi ones are fine, the genuine MINI parts do have a big mark up. We sell them and they work fine.
