Default Delay in acceleration

I have an R56 which I have neglected a little due to it only being used infrequently. The car is 07 and only has 26k miles on the clock.

When I push the accelerator down to gain speed there is a 2-3 second delay where the car revs up high and then speeds up gradually.

Does anyone have any ideas what this maybe? I have a basic diagnostics tool but I'm unsure of what the reading "should" be for the sensors.

My novice mind is saying MAF or Clutch, not sure how to be certain.

Thank you
