Default DSC v sASC

My new 07 S came with DSC. Reading manual they seem to share similar characteristics. Why would one have both. Thx

Default RE: DSC v sASC

ASC only reduces throttle input if the wheels spin, DSC is ASC but it will also apply brakes where appropriate if it senses a sideways slide. If you ask me, ASC is almost worthless where DSC is a really really handy thing for everyday driving. I've only ever been in a situation where DSC did anything once but it pretty much saved me from making friends with a ditch.
