Goes 95% into gear then stops?
Hey all,
When I shift into gear, only reverse and second gear, the stick will shift almost all of the way and then stop. Now before I noticed this issue I had assumed it was fully in gear and started to pull off/ drive until I heard the lovely sound of my gears grinding. As I said it, the stick moved 95% of the way in gear before stopping and its takes moderate force to fully push it into gear. At the moment its not a big issue as its became muscle memory to push a little harder to put it into gear but every now and then I mess up and I'm greeted by the screams of the car.
Any one have any ideas about this? I'm quite new to fixing my car and with this being my first its a learning process. Little bit of info, car is a 2008 R56 non s, Clutch was replaced at 80k miles and car is mostly going strong at 146k. I've had no issues with the clutch slipping at all since it was replaced and this issue has been going on for about a month.
Any helps appreciated and I'm wondering if this is possible to sort myself? I've been trying to repair everything that's not out of my depth to learn a bit more about cars, thank you!
