Default Interior light problem

Hello Everybody
I have a 2010 Mini Cooper S. I am having problems with my interior lights.
They do not come on when you open the doors. I have checked fuses, all the lights work manually. I have used the toggle switch as described in the manual but no joy.
The battery was disconnected recently when it had a new clutch fitted.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks
Jon Reed

Possibly the Foot Well Module, it controls the lights and a whole slew of other things
