Default K&N Filter good or bad?

Has anyone installed a K&N filter to replace the OEM filter? Have you noticed any improvement or degradation in performance or gas mileage?

I am considering one however, I will stay with the stock filter if the K&N has any negative effects.

Thanks in advance

The general consensus is to leave the stock one until it's clogged then go aftermarket. The performance gain isn't worth tossing a perfectly good filter but, when it's time if you go with aftermarket it's the last one you'll have to buy, making it much cheaper over the long run.

Sure thing.

BTW, I have 20,000+ on my JCW filter and I just knock the dust out of it every now and then... it's still fine.[8D]
