Mystery “orphaned” hose connection

Can anyone tell me what this “orphaned” hose connection is for and where it connects to? It is on the driver’s side towards the wheel well. This is a 2010 Cooper S.

Did you manage to find where this hose attaches to?

I have just bought an 07 MCS with the same thing!
