Hello, I'm new to the forum. Came across it as I was searching for Fuel pump issues with Mini's, trying to help a friend out with his problem.
Has anyone ever heard of a bad HPFP out of the box? My friend has a 2012 Countryman, 1.6T, that he diagnosed as a bad HPFP. It was having misfire issues and low pressure at the pump. Ordered a new pump, #13517592429, and installed it. The vehicle ran like new for about an hour on the highway, then the misfires came back and has low fuel pressure again. He is thinking it is a bad pump straight out of the box. I just think it's weird that with both pumps, it's doing the same thing. Any thing He might be missing? I don't know much about Mini's, figure I'd ask the experts. Or could it be as simple as a bad new pump? Thanks in advance.
