Really need some help! 2008 Clubman S
So we have a 2008 Clubman S with 42K. Back in November of last year it started having some strange electrical issues where the stability control warning light and ABS light would flash on/off, or sometimes stay on. Also car would not start right up sometimes, would hear a clicking noise behind the passenger side of dash board. Thought initially was the battery being old, so changed out battery. Thank did not fix the problem, so took it to the only MINI dealer around. They tried to say the problem was we had changed the battery and that the computer needed to be reset by them after the battery was changed. So they reset the computer and we left with the car. Ok for about a week, then same problems again. So take it back to dealer, and for 5 and 1/2 half months they "try" to figure out what is wrong with car, and not that was not a typo, over 5 months they had the car. They initially said was the DSC sensor and replaced that, but that did not clear the error codes and some sort of battery drain going on. So I really have no idea what they were doing for so long, but finally a regional MINI repair person was in town and worked on the vehicle said it was the fuse box, so they put in a whole new fuse box, and another new DSC sensor, which seemed to have vehicle fixed. It would start, no error codes, no battery drain going on. So $1500 and 5 1/2 months later we take the car home. All seems good for exactly one week. Now same electrical issues, car won't start at times. Call dealer, get some sort of attitude when I tell them car is not fixed. Looking at what to do now before we take it back to them, as obviously they have no clue. Dealership even admits the shop foreman has not worked on mini's very long, came from the BMW side of dealership. Has anyone ever heard of a similar issue with mini? Any suggestions of what to have checked? Where else do we turn? We did contact MINI north america through all this and did not really get much help, they contacted the dealer for us and got a story similar to what we kept hearing, we are working on it, shop foreman has taken the repair over, etc.

Ok so I would have thought I would have at least gotten a sympathy response like that sucks, sorry can't help or something like that even if no one had suggestions. Am I perhaps posting in wrong place? Is there another forum more geared to MINI electrical problems?

Find another dealership!
Find another dealership or independent that has their crap together. mechanics are like doctors....the carrying the same title, the capabilities can be drastically different. What part of the country are you in?
