I have an '05 Mini and the headlamp spray apparati are extended. I have no idea how to make them retract... any suggestions?

 

They may be dirty which is preventing them from retracting. It is the washer fluid pressure that pushes them out when the washer fluid motor pushes the fluid through the system. Try cleaning the part that pushes out and lube with some silicon. See the diagram attached.
