Mini cooper R50 Front Windshield Wipers not working [Problem]
Hello everyone. I’m having an issue with my mini copper r50. One day I started the vehicle and the wipers sort of moved by themselves and I tried to use them and they stopped working.
The switch from the steering wheel works since it moved the rear wiper. I checked the relay with another relay.. and it wasn’t a really issue since I checked it via a multimeter and a new relay didn’t do anything either. I then proceeded to remove the relay and basically stuck a paper clip on the power side and it was able to move the motor (once given power). I have also tried the “ground” trick, where I put a 10 gauge wire on one of the wiper motor nuts, and grounded it to a solid hood ground (I have tried multiple points) and still… nothing.
•checked fuse (good)
•checked relay (good)
•checked power issue (it works when I feed power into it via the engine bay fuse box relay slot)
•checked the ground (does nothing)
•checked switch (switch works since it moved the rear wiper
•ran a new wire running from the connector underneath the engine bay fuse box that goes into the BCM that is in charge of controlling it from the switch to move the front wiper arms and still nothing.
I would assume it’s a good wiper motor since it still moves and functions properly when given power. I don’t know what would be the issue. Any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated. If anyone had a similar issue or is having it, let me know!
