Been having this issue for a while now but recently it is getting worse and dangerous, my mini has developed a problem where it accelerates on its own when going above 40MPH it does it in 3rd 4th and 5th it usually does it when I lift off the accelerator and keeps the car going along without dropping speed, however if I press the clutch in then the engine will climb revs all the way to the red line, it also revs up on its own when I change gears making it a really horrid experience to change gear.




At first I thought that it could be a sticking throttle body so I bought a new one and no luck

Anyone got any ideas ? thanks
