P2127 and P2138 Check Engine Light codes
Hello, everybody,
I purchased a Mini Cooper "Diagnosis Without Guesswork" manual for my car from Bentley Publishers,
it seems like this manual has all the codes and diagnostic steps EXCEPT for the two I need.
I'm getting the following two codes together, and I'm looking for what to fix:
P2127 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "E" Circuit Low
P2138 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D"/"E" Voltage Correlation
When these codes started, the car lost about 80% of it's power in any gear above 1st.
It felt like the car lost about 10% of it's power two months ago (about the time I had transmission work done), but no CEL came on, and I wasn't completely sure.
I see a YouTube video for a Nissan with those same two codes, and it was corrected by cleaning connectors to the throttle position sensor with canned air - I'd try this, but I can't figure out how to get to the Pedal Position Sensor for my Mini - it's the "block" behind the gas pedal, right?
Mini Cooper (non-S) (R50)
2006, hardtop
Any help would be appreciated. This manual is a $100 paperweight (rush shipping). Any ideas? Thanks!
