Default Door Issue

Hey,

I was looking through the forum, and I'm sure this has been addressed, but I couldn't find a post. I have an '05 Cooper S. My door won't open from the inside. When I pull the handle, the lock starts to come up, but doesn't completely catch. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the issue probably is? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm assuming that the power door locks are still working ...
The linkage might be messed up

I am having the same issue with my 04'. I have not yet found a solution- help!
I'm planning on taking my door apart this weekend to see if I can figure out why the latch isn't catching. If any one has any suggestions, that would be great!

inner door removal , then you'll have to compare the working door to the non working one

So I took the door apart. Long story short, after looking up this problem about half a dozen times, I thought it would be to just adjust the bowden cable. Unfortunately the mechanism is really tough to get to, and I made the problem worse. So next weekend is attempt #2, with a new bowden cable from the mini dealership @ $12. If it works, I'll let you guys know how to do it. Doesn't look like it should be too terrible, just a lot of taking apart.
